Johnny Grubb
Johnny Grubb was born and raised in Atlanta, Georgia. He went to college at Appalachian State University where he spent most of the time hiding from the classical music curriculum by immersing himself in jazz, gospel, and lots of European dance music. Bluegrass was on the radio every day courtesy of WNCW though, and after moving back to ATL he ran into a banjo playing buddy who was on the lookout for a bassist for their band. After learning just enough bluegrass to be dangerous he was picked up by the nationally-touring roots powerhouse Railroad Earth where he spent the next 7 years holding down the rhythm section and playing more clubs, theaters and festivals than a normal human could imagine even existed. He bumped into his future ENB bandmates many times during that stint and jumped at the chance to fill a vacant bass chair in this outfit in early 2011.
